As is well known, the simple visual examination of a sample is unable to provide particular information except for the surface layer of the material. To carry out a precise and reproducible materialographic analysis, a careful preparation of the sample, which starts right from the cutting process, is required. The metallographic cutting not only reduces the sample's size and makes it easier to handle for microscope analysis, but also allows to measure the internal structure of the material. Thanks to the webinar "Metallographic cutting in practice: techniques and solutions ... live!" offered in collaboration with Zeiss, QATM will present live tricks, tips and techniques to precisely cut samples and prepare them for the next steps.
